Chelsea manager Graham Potter praised Joao Felix’s “fluid” display in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham and expects the forward to only get better.
Felix’s long-awaited return after his three-game suspension did not disappoint as he scored his first goal for Chelsea at the London Stadium.
Playing with the freedom to roam behind Kai Havertz, the 23-year-old caused a lot of problems for West Ham defenders with his dribbling skills and spatial awareness, in particular.
Potter is convinced that Felix will play a significant role in Chelsea’s attacking plans for the rest of the season.

“You can see his quality,” Potter told Chelsea TV when asked about Felix’s performance against West Ham.
“Receives in tight spaces, he’s very fluid in his movement. He brings people into the game, but at the same time, he can help us in the final third with goals and key passes.
“The overall attacking unit will get better the more we’re working with each other and understand each other.”
As Potter put it, the Atletico Madrid loanee is a player that can bring his teammates into the game with his movement.
It is no coincidence that as West Ham defend more aggressively to cut passes from reaching Felix in the second half, Chelsea became less and less threatening up front.
The Portugal international also seems to have formed good link-ups with Enzo Fernandez and Kai Havertz, which will only help the team solve their poor attacking form.
