Graham Potter claims that everyone at Chelsea is delighted by the impact of Joao Felix.

Felix, who joined in January on loan from Atletico Madrid, has made just six appearances so far in Chelsea colours.

However, there is plenty of Blues supporters that would love to see the 23-year-old attacker join on a permanent basis this summer.

The Athletic claims this week that Chelsea are looking at ways to try and sign Felix at the end of the season but are aware it could be very expensive.

Joao Felix praise

Chelsea’s head coach has given a glowing verdict on Felix before Chelsea’s Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund tonight.

In particular, Potter mentions that the Portuguese talent is someone versatile enough to play more than just one position. He’s mainly been used in a No.10 role behind a striker at Stamford Bridge but can easily drift into wide areas.

“We’re really happy with him – providing he isn’t tackling anyone on the halfway line!” Potter said, as quoted by Football London.

“His quality is clear. He can receive the ball in tight spaces and makes things happen from an attacking perspective. He’s hit the bar twice, scored, and had some other chances. So he has that quality. The fact he can play in a few positions is good. We’ve tended to use him more centrally but he has the ability to play anywhere in the attacking phase of the game.”

Felix has so often looked Chelsea’s most dangerous forward in recent weeks, which is why it’s frustrating he’s still scored just the one goal for the club.

Despite a lack of end product yet, the on-loan Atletico Madrid star is certainly adding a spark going forward.

He was so unfortunate not to score in the first-leg defeat against Dortmund, so hopefully he can redeem himself this evening against the German side.

The forward is one of the few in the group right now you feel is operating at a top level.
