Catalina Kim has almost overnight become the centre of attention for many Chelsea supporters.
On Monday, it was announced that Nick Candy had improved his bid to buy the Blues thanks to backing from Kim’s company, C&P Sports.
Candy also acquired financial support from Hana Financial Group, another South Korean company.
Between the two investors, the British property investor was able to increase his offer that he submitted to the Raine Group last Friday.
Could Kim and Candy be the next Chelsea owners?
With the shortlist of candidates set to be decided in the next few days, followers of the European champions might be hearing a lot more of Candy’s consortium.
Especially Kim, who recently announced herself to the Twittersphere.
She seemingly only set her account up at the start of the week, but has already been pretty vocal on the platform.
The 38-year-old willingly replied to several Chelsea fans asking her questions about the potential takeover.
Not to mention addressing even more important matters like which team she follows.
One account claimed Kim possess a season ticket at Tottenham Hotspur, a declaration that was quickly shut down.
‘I am not. I live in Chelsea,’ she replied.
That’s certainly not a bad way to win over the Stamford Bridge faithful.
Admitting love for Thomas Tuchel is also a pretty good place to start.
Who else is in the running?
At the moment, Kim’s partnership with Candy appears to be paying off in terms of buying out Roman Abramovich.
Several of the other suitors are facing difficulties that have not yet been thrown in their direction.
The Ricketts family, owners of the Chicago Cubs, haven’t felt the love of the Chelsea community, with the #NoToRicketts campaign circling the internet.
The Saudi Media Group will undoubtedly be scrutinised by the UK government and Premier League for any involvement they might have with the controversial Saudi Arabian state.
Team Kim all the way!
