Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham said he has seen similarities between teammate Mason Mount and the manager Frank Lampard.
He plays in midfield, likes to join the attack, and has an impressive goalscoring record; Mount is often seen as Lampard’s protege.
He has had six goals four assists in the Premier League this season, raking 29 goals and 19 assists in his first three seasons at senior level.
Certainly not bad for a 21-year-old, is it?
Mount has also been the first name on Lampard’s team sheet this season, having featured in all the 29 Premier League games Chelsea have played this season so far and started in 25 of them.
And Abraham who rose through the youth system alongside Mount said he also sees the resemblance.

Speaking about Lampard, Tammy told Chelsea’s 5th stand app: “When we were growing up, him and John Terry were massive for us over in the academy.
“Lampard was always a leader, he always wanted to train the best, be the best. You could see that in his character.
“I see similarities in Mason Mount, you know.
“You can see that he has obviously studied the way the gaffer played and that’s huge; because he knows about scoring, he knows about defending, he knows about passing.
“He knows about everything, so it’s nice to have a manager with that experience.”

Mount himself spoke about how he has always based his game around Lampard.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on Copa 90’s YouTube channel in April, Mount said: “Being at Chelsea and an attacking midfielder, I’ve always looked up to Frank Lampard, the gaffer, tried to take things off his game and base my game around it.
“At Derby, he was telling me about the runs into the box, the timing, how to get goals and to be around the box. I always spoke to him about that.”
