John Terry has stated that Mason Mount is someone who is excellent in training, as well as adding that he views him as a future captain for both Chelsea and England.
Mount, 22, is a highly-rated talent that has come through the academy at Cobham and is now a key first-team player for the Blues.
The £88,000-a-week star (Spotrac) was an important member of the team under ex-boss Frank Lampard, while under new manager Thomas Tuchel he’s now starting to make a similar huge impression.
He’s an attacking midfielder that has great technical ability, work-rate and intelligence on a football pitch.
Mount wore the armband in Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round win over Luton Town and Blues legend Terry is tipping him to become a permanent skipper in future.
He also added the 10-time capped England international could captain the national team at some stage.
Terry may be assistant coach now at Villa, but he’s still got plenty of Chelsea connections that will know all about Mount in training.
“Mason Mount future Chelsea captain? 100% for me. I think he’s been Chelsea’s best player this season to be honest,” Terry said live on his Instagram story (10 February).
“Great lad, trains unbelievably well. He’s been there since he was eight so definitely showing leadership qualities and in my mind Chelsea and England captain for me.”

The suggestion that Mount could become a future Chelsea captain looks a sensible one, as he’s one of the first names on the team sheet and leads by example with his performances.
It’s unclear on why he receives stick from some rival fans, but Chelsea supporters are proud to have such a talent come through the academy.
Terry was the last world-class talent to come through the Blues academy system and is someone that Mount should try emulate, albeit it’s a tall order.
It’s obvious that Mount plays for the badge and he’s continuing to develop as a player, which is why his future looks an exciting one.
