Chelsea supporters on social media were singing the praises of Trevoh Chalobah following his performance against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Chalobah started the match in central defence and was alive to the majority of the Gunners’ offensive threats.

It is a position Thomas Tuchel clearly feels the 22-year-old is capable of coping with, having used him there in the second half away to Bournemouth last week.

He stood out amongst his fellow returning loanees and even outshone several of the first-team stars.

Thankfully for Chalobah, Blues fans did not overlook their academy product’s impressive display.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Yesterday was certainly a big occasion for Chalobah in terms of his Chelsea future.

Every minute he plays under Tuchel is an audition to try break into the senior side.

And every strong exhibition boosts his chances of doing so.

In the face of a decent Arsenal line-up, with the backdrop of around 25,000 inside the Emirates, Chalobah could have easily crumbled under the pressure.

But the youngster stood up to the task and showed his manager why he deserves a shot at the big time.

Of course, rival clubs will also be keeping an eye on his showings throughout pre-season.

A report from L’Equipe in July stated that at least six teams from England and France were interested in the former Lorient loanee.
