Chelsea loan star Jake Clarke-Salter earned some high compliments from Coventry City supporters on social media yesterday.
Clarke-Salter started and shone for the Sky Blues in their 1-0 Championship victory over Cardiff City last night.
The 23-year-old has really found his feet under Mark Robins, following his loan move away from Chelsea in the summer.
Wednesday evening’s win was the defender’s fifth appearance of the season, his third clean sheet and his ninth point.
Cardiff are certainly no pushovers, with Mick McCarthy’s side wielding height and physicality from front to back.
But Coventry, especially Clarke-Salter, parried the threat to ensure another sizeable second division scalp.
Fans of the West Midlander’s held the Chelsea loanee in high regard for his latest seminar in defensive shrewdness.
Here is how they reacted on Twitter:

Salt-er of the earth
It would be easy to forget that Clarke-Salter is still part of the Chelsea family at all.
He hasn’t featured for the Champions League holders competitively for nearly three years to the day.
Between now and his Blues senior debut back in 2016, the centre-back has been sent away on five separate loans.
His CV reads: Bristol Rovers, Sunderland, Vitesse Arnhem, Birmingham City twice and Coventry.

Stepping down from the Premier League platform into the precipice of the lower ladders is no longer a huge leap for the England Under-21 international.
In fact, the top flight is now an alien wasteland for Clarke-Salter, having not ventured there for half a decade.
Who knows, a strong stint with Coventry could easily throw his name back into the Chelsea conversation.
