Hakim Ziyech is among the senior Chelsea players that will not travel to the United States next week for the pre-season tour.

That is according to a report from The Evening Standard.

Mauricio Pochettino and his squad will jet off on Monday ahead of five friendly matches in America, which starts on Wednesday against Wrexham.

The new Blues head coach has had a couple of weeks to find his feet at Cobham with training sessions, but we suspect the pre-season schedule is about to crank up a level with the overseas trip.

The Evening Standard claims that Hakim Ziyech, 30, is not expected to travel as part of the Chelsea group.

It is explained that the 30-year-old winger was told he didn’t have to train this week and instead will return to Cobham on Monday when most of the team travels to the States.

The report adds that experienced duo Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are in the exact same boat at Chelsea this pre-season. Callum Hudson-Odoi is not expected to travel with the main group, too.

Apparently, the club hope the quartet are all sold while the pre-season fixtures are taking place.

Journalist Matt Law reported on Twitter earlier this month that Ziyech could still end up moving to Saudi Arabia this summer after previous failed attempts.

It now sounds like the £33million winger (Sky Sports) is going to have a few weeks to sort his future before next season.

We hope that for both the club and player a suitable buyer can be found quickly.
