Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has praised Chelsea star Christian Pulisic after the Blues secured an important three points at Stamford Bridge.
Olivier Giroud’s goal just before half-time was enough to take Chelsea four points clear from Manchester United and Leicester City, at least for the moment.
Christian Pulisic, who made the cross for the French international’s goal, has arguably been Chelsea’s best attacker since the Premier League restart.
Not only has he bagged three goals and an assist from eight games, his elusiveness also won Chelsea a couple of important penalties.
Norwich boss Farke has had his say about the American performance.
He told NBC Sports’ Pro Soccer Talk: “I would value and appreciate it if Christian would be in my team, without a doubt!
Chelsea spent 60 million pounds or something like this, of course I know him out of my time with Borussia Dortmund.
Farke said he knew Pulisic from his time as Borussia Dortmund II manager from 2015 to 2017.
“He’s a brilliant lad,” he added.
“Always humble. Always with both feet on the ground. Always works unbelievably hard on the pitch. A player full of potential.
“He will have a bright future and it was a lot of money [to spend on him] but he is definitely worth each and every pound because he’s a top class player.”
The manager also believes that Pulisic’s performance against his team shows why he will be an elite player.
“He proved that today with a great cross and I would have preferred he was not able to find Giroud, who in this moment is still a top class striker,” he said.
“Christian will have a bright future and will be a world-class player one day and this is the best way to develop in this direction.”
Chelsea will face Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinal at weekend before the remaining two league fixtures against Liverpool (July 22) and Wolverhampton (July 26).
