Report: 20-year-old midfielder has already really impressed in Chelsea first team training

Reports have claimed that Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei has already impressed greatly in first team training.

According to The Athletic, many at the club have already been impressed by how quickly he settled into things in a new environment when he joined.

The Blues selected Casadei as one of their first youngsters to bring in as part of Todd Boehly’s quest to create one of the best young teams in world football.

After a half-season as part of the youth team, he was loaned out to Championship side Reading.

Here, he was horrifically misused by manager at the time Paul Ince, and was not utilised before it was too late to save them from relegation to League One.

Any doubts over the Italian’s abilities will surely have been cast to one side after his performances at the recent U20 World Cup in Argentina.

Casadei impressing in training

The 20-year-old picked up both the golden boot and golden ball after what was a memorable tournament for him on a personal level.

Now, there have been a number of questions surrounding what the future is to look like for the youngster, with plenty of options on the table.

It has been claimed today that the Blues are hoping that the player receives a loan offer to join a team in the Premier League, taking a step up from where he was last season.

A number of the other young stars brought in by the club across the last 12 months are waiting to see whether their future is going to be at Stamford Bridge this season.

Yesterday saw Andrey Santos confirm he had been awarded his visa that will allow him to represent the Blues on pre-season duty in the United States, with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly keen to take a look at him.
