Reports have claimed that Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has plenty of admirers among the board at Chelsea.
According to ESPN, the Blues have him in their list of people to speak to about potentially handing him the permanent manager’s job.
Plenty of names have been mentioned as potential candidates for the role, with managers both and in and out of jobs linked with taking over.

Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are seemingly the frontrunners for the post, with them both reportedly entering talks over becoming the boss at the end of the season.
Until then, Frank Lampard will continue with what seems the impossible task of steadying the ship at Stamford Bridge.
Their Champions League hopes are hanging by a thread after the 2-0 defeat on Wednesday to Real Madrid.

The Blues will perhaps be content with that result following Ben Chilwell’s red card, and therefore still hopeful of rescuing something from this season.
While Nagelsmann and Enrique certainly would be viable candidates, it has been claimed that there are some on the Chelsea board who would be more than happy with hiring Amorim.

The Portuguese international has continued his exciting rise towards the top of European football with Sporting. Recently, he helped oversee a sensational Europa League victory over runaway Premier League leaders Arsenal.
He is a big fan of the three-back formations, which seem to certainly suit a lot of the current crop of players.
This includes Ben Chilwell and Reece James, who are at their best when they are flying forwards and helping out in the attack, and this would certainly be a possibility if Amorim was handed the job.
