One of the bidders in the race to buy Chelsea will reportedly sit down with some of the club’s senior figures this week to discuss a potential takeover.
Ken Griffin, who’s part of the consortium that involves the Ricketts family, is due for imminent talks.
According to The Telegraph, 53-year-old American billionaire Griffin has jetted into London with Tom Ricketts and Laura Ricketts.
It is explained they’ll hold talks this week with Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck, along with directors Marina Granovskaia and Eugene Tenebaum.
These discussions will take place ahead of next Monday’s deadline, which is the final cut-off for takeover offers to be improved from the four remaining bidders trying to purchase the London club.
The report explains this is a significant development now that Griffin, who to this point has remained in the dark, will sit down for face-to-face meetings with Chelsea executives.
It’s worth adding he’ll become the majority shareholder if the Ricketts offer wins, too.

Chelsea bidders must be probed on transfer visions
For certain, something high on the agenda of importance for the new ownership is the amount of cash they’ll inject into the squad.
Chelsea have been operating at the top table during Roman Abramovich’s reign.
In fairness, Thomas Tuchel’s squad is stacked with a lot of young talent and there are stars everywhere you look.
However, there has to be an immediate focus on sorting out the defence, if the change of ownership can go through smoothly and allow for transfer focus.
