Roman Abramovich may have to reassess his decision to hand over “the stewardship and care” of Chelsea to the trustees of the club’s charitable foundation with some of them considering resigning, according to The Telegraph.
The report claims that at least two of the six foundation trustees have raised concerns that their other work might be compromised by Abramovich’s decision.
The foundation itself is headed by the football club chairman Bruce Buck.
The other trustees include Chelsea women team’s head coach Emma Hayes, the executive director of anti-discrimination group Fare, Piara Powar, and the chairman of the British Olympic Association, Sir Hugh Robertson
According to The Telegraph, following a meeting on Sunday, there will be more talks this week to determine the possible options.

The options include replacing the trustee who may want to step down, continue the plan as it is with a smaller group, or find a completely new model to run the club.
Club director Marina Granovskaia and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech will likely still be responsible for football-related decisions, but the club will need a clear organisational structure for broader aspects of the business.
There is also a concern whether running a football club as part of the foundation would be compatible with the charity law, the report added.
