Spanish outlet El Desmarque reports that Chelsea have made an initial 52 million Euros bid for Real Madrid midfielder Isco. This is a bid that meets the price tag set by Florentino Perez for the Spanish international.
Isco has found it difficult to hold down a starting spot at the Bernabeu since Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club. He has made just five league starts for the club and another five substitute appearances.

The creative midfielder could provide Chelsea with some much-needed help going forward. The Blues have struggled to create chances of late, and a player with Isco’s passing and dribbling ability will certainly have an impact.
But is he actually needed at Stamford Bridge? The 27-year-old mainly operates in attacking midfield. He will be fighting for a spot with Mason Mount initially, who has split Chelsea fan’s opinions of late.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek will also be returning to the squad in the coming months. He will be fighting for that more advanced role as well and signing Isco could be an unnecessary move from the club.

However, there is no doubting that the Spanish midfielder is a world-class talent. He is experienced and can change a game in an instant. His capabilities would no doubt improve Chelsea’s attacking impetus, but it may impact the development of other great talents at the club.
It will be interesting to see how this one develops, but Blues fans may have to wait. The report states that a deal is more likely to happen at the end of the season.
