Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana looked just fine despite the injury scare as he celebrated “like a kid” in front the fans after Saturday’s 3-1 win over Leicester City, according to The Athletic’s Simon Johnson.
Since coming back from his long-term absence, the 22-year-old has reminded everyone that there was a very good reason why Chelsea spent a reported £75million for him this summer.
He has started in every game since reclaiming his spot in the starting line-up in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur a couple of weeks ago.
So, understandably, there were some worried faces when he left the pitch towards the end of the match against Leicester for what was thought to be a possible injury.

Chelsea are on a positive run and losing another key defender after Thiago Silva would be the last thing they would want.
Fortunately, The Athletic’s Johson suggested that there was nothing serious.
“Nothing wrong with Fofana,” the journalist wrote on Twitter after the game.
“He’s celebrating like a kid in front of the #CFC fans and has just run into the arms of [Kalidou] Koulibaly.
“Enjoyed that victory for obvious reasons.”
Fofana and other Chelsea players will have a week to prepare for the next match against Everton, so they should have plenty of time to recover and hopefully shake off any fitness issue.
