Antonio Rudiger’s brother is reportedly in charge of negotiating the terms for his sibling’s uncertain Chelsea future.
This is according to Sport1, who claim Sahr Senesie is in conversation with Marina Granovskaia over Rudiger’s hazardous situation.
The German international now has less than 12 months on his contract, which expires next summer.
Chelsea would understandably like to extend his contract. However, the 28-year-old’s apparent demands are causing an issue.
Eurosport say the defender wants a pay rise of £70,000, from his current salary of £130,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week.
This has clearly been met with a frown by Granovskaia and her powerful comrades.
As the days continue to roll by without a new deal being confirmed, the footballing sharks can smell blood.
Le10 Sport suggest Paris Saint-Germain are waiting to pounce if Rudiger does become a free agent in June.
There are still plenty of hours left on the clock between now and the expiration date.
Yet, Chelsea cannot afford to let this saga rumble on for much longer, as to avoid disruption in the camp.
Thomas Tuchel could really do without any off-field distractions whilst attempting to reclaim the Premier League title.
Especially as one of his most important players is caught up in the saga.
Rudiger has been sensational ever since Tuchel set foot in Stamford Bridge earlier this year.
He has barely put a stud wrong following his reinstatement into the side.
Chelsea’s defence looks a lot limper without him present, a problem they would have to face if the centre-back is allowed to leave on the cheap.
