Chelsea defender Marc Guehi is reportedly set for a loan move to Championship side Swansea City. The 19-year-old will join the Welsh club for the remainder of the season, giving him the chance to play some regular senior football.
BBC has reported that a deal is set to be completed before this weekend’s set of fixtures. Guehi has made two senior appearances for the Blues this season and is considered an exciting defensive prospect. He was part of the England U-17 team that won the 2017 World Cup and has since gone on to represent his country at U-21 level, making six appearances.

The 19-year-old will relish the chance of first-team football at Swansea. He is a centre-back that can also operate in a full-back role. Chelsea will need to consider if they need to bring in a new defender to fill the gap in the squad left by Guehi.
It will leave Lampard with four defenders at the club. If Andreas Christensen, who has been targeted by AC Milan, leaves the club then the Blues will be very thin on the ground at the back. Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, and Fikayo Tomori would be the only options if the Dane moved on. One injury could cause a real problem.

Reports have suggested that the Blues could make a move for Nathan Ake this month. There is a £40 million release clause in his contract if Chelsea make a move. However, this clause expires this month. Lampard will have to move quickly if the Netherlands international is the man to strengthen his back-line.
