Potential buyers of Chelsea have reportedly been given an important message from the Raine Group, who are the US bank in charge of overseeing the club’s sale.

According to the Daily Mail, it’s crunch time for all takeover bids with the deadline set as 9pm tonight.

It is understood the Raine Group will then work on narrowing it down to a shortlist that’s no larger than four potential investors.

The report claims that it’s been “stressed” to all suitors that there is an urgency to complete the takeover quickly. This is down to the financial implications that Roman Abramovich’s government sanctioning has had on the club. For example, the Blues haven’t been able to sell any extra tickets for games.

The Mail’s report has mentioned a broad name of potential buyers that have all been widely linked with Chelsea across various media platforms. The Ricketts family, Todd Boehly’s consortium, Woody Johnson, Sir Martin Broughton and Lord Coe, Saudi Media Group, Tom Ricketts and Ken Griffin, Aethel Partners, and Nick Candy’s consortium are all name-checked.

Chelsea clock is ticking

Yes, Friday’s deadline for takeover offers is now here.

It’s been an action-packed March with so much off-field activity for Chelsea, but there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

There is so much discussion within the Blues fanbase about who they want in charge, with several investors making compelling cases. For instance, the move from businessman Candy to get ex-Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli involved with his takeover bid could be a stroke of genius.

The Raine Group will now crunch the numbers and seek out the best vision for the club.
