Reports have claimed that a senior Premier League figure believes Graham Potter might return as the Brighton manager when he gets back in the game.
According to The Athletic, Roberto de Zerbi’s stock being on the rise could leave the Seagulls unlikely to be able to keep hold of him if a far bigger club wants to bring him in.
The move for Potter to leave Brighton came as much of a shock as it was for the Blues to remove Thomas Tuchel from his post.

It had been claimed that Todd Boehly personally was a massive fan of the manager, which could explain why he was given so much time to try and turn things around.
This didn’t happen however, and when the Blues dropped into the bottom half of the table the American had no choice but to pull the trigger.
However, the quality Potter has shown in his young managerial career suggests that he is going to walk back into the game quite easily.
Leicester City are currently looking for someone to take the reins, and if they stay up this season he may become interested in that return to the Premier League.
However, a senior chief at a Premier League club believes his return will come with his former club, Brighton.

De Zerbi was briefly linked with the role at Stamford Bridge, which looks to be temporarily taken on by Frank Lampard.
It was unimaginable that Boehly would look back to a Premier League team traditionally seen as below them for their next manager, and are instead reportedly more intereste in looking across Europe.
Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have emerged as the main candidates for the role, with the Spaniard even travelling to London to further talks with the club.
