Callum Hudson-Odoi has found opportunities hard to come by under Frank Lampard this season. After eventually breaking into the Chelsea side last season, the 19-year-old suffered a serious achilles injury. He has since struggled to get back to his best.
With rumours growing of further attacking reinforcements being brought in at Stamford Bridge, should Chelsea consider sending CHO out on loan for the remainder of the season?

Christian Pulisic and Willian appear to be Lampard’s preferred wide men, which leaves Hudson-Odoi as a second choice on either wing. If the Blues were successful in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, the Chelsea winger would fall even further down the pecking order.
Whilst not being at his best this season, the Englishman’s record does not make for bad reading. In five starts and 11 substitute appearances across all competitions, he has scored one goal and provided four assists.
Chelsea fans need to remain grounded with Hudson-Odoi, despite his undeniable attacking prowess. His dribbling gets fans on the edge of their seats, and he regularly delivers dangerous crosses into the box.

However, he is a long way from being the finished article. Hudson-Odoi needs to make a consistent impact on games he features to make his way into Chelsea’s starting side.
Sending him out on loan to another Premier League side will give the 19-year-old the first-team opportunities he needs. Romelu Lukaku and Daniel Sturridge are just two examples of players whose loan spells to top tier sides were key to their progression into top-level players.
