‘Should keep him’: Some Chelsea fans loved 22-year-old’s display in pre-season

Chelsea wrapped up their pre-season with a 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out Trevoh Chalobah as a real standout performer.

The Blues drew at Stamford Bridge against their London rivals in front of a brilliant home crowd.

Hakim Ziyech, who scored a goal in each half, put Thomas Tuchel’s side into a two-goal lead.

Firstly, the 28-year-old fired in a low shot from outside of the box in the first half. The left-footed attacker followed that up early in the second period with a whipped effort in the box that deflected in.

Spurs did end up drawing the match though thanks to goals from Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.

Chelsea now turn attention to next Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup final against Villarreal, which is a reward for winning last season’s Champions League.

Chelsea fans delighted with Trevoh Chalobah

A selection of Blues supporters on social media believe Chalobah sent out a big message tonight.

The 22-year-old defender started the game as part of a back three. Also, he showed his flexibility by playing right-back for a stage in the second half. Furthermore, the youngster can operate in midfield, too.

He’s spent time away from Stamford Bridge on loan in recent years, but this pre-season he’s made an impression when given a chance by Tuchel.

The Blues academy talent is yet to make a competitive first-team debut for the club, but there are some who want to see him promoted to the senior squad in the 2021/22 season.
