Nick Candy revealed that he has already conversed with the right people involved in the bidding process for Chelsea.

Candy told the Telegraph that he had ‘spoken to most of the parties’ about the idea of putting forward a substantial offer.

When questioned about his involvement in the transaction, he said ‘we are looking at what the art of the possible is.’

It was reported yesterday that the 49-year-old property developer is readying a big bid to buy the Blues from Roman Abramovich.

This proposal will be headed by a love for the club, as Candy has apparently supported Chelsea since he was young.

American investors have been contacted by the fan of the Champions League holders as a way to drum up finances.

Candy’s approach is certainly enticing for those from across the pond, considering his expertise in London and the team itself.

His offer, which could reach £2.5b (Daily Mail), will include plans to renovate Stamford Bridge at a cost of around £1.5b.

The Bridge needs pampering

Abramovich scrapped ideas to refurbish the stadium in 2018, after his investor visa was not renewed by the government.

Blueprints to increase the capacity to 60,000 have remained in storage ever since.

However, Candy seemingly wants to restart the project that’s been mentioned for over half a decade.

Compared to other high-profile grounds across the country, Chelsea’s arena provides relatively low profits, hence why so much debt is owed to Abramovich.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both developed a swanky new home, whilst Anfield is set to add a few more thousand seats.

Even though Old Trafford has its faults, the fact it can pack in 76,000 swallows Stamford Bridge’s 41,000.

Giving the Bridge a makeover will make a large proportion of South West Londoners very happy, including Candy himself.
