Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchle has had his say on his relationship with club director Marina Granovskaia and her possible departure ahead of the expected change of ownership.
Roman Abramovich, who has recently announced his decision to sell the club, is at the top of the Blues hierarchy, but he is not exactly a hands-own club owner.
Instead, most of the club decisions are made by Granovskia, along with the board, and more recently Petr Cech as the technical and performance advisor.
While Tuchel already had a few opportunities to chat with Abramovich in the past years, he mostly communicates with Granovskaia and Cech.
A recent report from The Telegraph claims that Granovskaia, who was named the best club director by Tuttosport in 2021, may still be part of the club even without Abramovich.
It remains uncertain at this point, but Tuchel clearly hopes she stays.

“My communication with Marina and Petr is excellent from day one,” the German said in Friday’s press conference.
“Marina is ill at the moment, otherwise she would have been here and briefed everybody.
“Right now, no doubt that this will continue for next days, weeks, months… I don’t know.
“I hope it stays on the same level, hopefully with the same person.
“If not, OK, we need to adapt. It seems that we have to adapt on a daily basis to new situations.”

Tuchel may have had conversations with Granovskaia over his short- and long-term plans, and a change of director would only complicate things from the manager’s perspective.
Granovskaia is also mostly responsible for the business side of the club which allows managers, including Tuchel, more control over the team.
Hopefully, it stays this way, but as Tuchel said, he will have to adapt regardless.
