Several Chelsea players, including Timo Werner, have had their say about the disappointing FA Cup final defeat on social media.
Having also lost in the final just nine months ago, Saturday’s defeat was certainly devastating for the players.
For some, it was also an opportunity to win their first trophy in their senior careers.
But they do not have the time to dwell on the defeat and will have to immediately shift their focus on the next three games.
As things stand, the three remaining games; two league fixtures v Leicester City and Aston Villa and the Champions League final v Manchester City, are all must-win games.
The Blues still sit fourth in the Premier League table but with just a one-point cushion over fifth-placed Liverpool.
Writing on social media, Werner has promised that the players will make up for the FA Cup defeat in the upcoming games.
“Frustrating day,” the Germany international wrote on Instagram.
“Great to have our fans back in the stadium. We will do everything to make you happy the next two weeks.”
Mason Mount also sent a similar message to Chelsea supporters: “Tough one to take last night.
“Still so much to play for over the next two weeks. We’ll do everything we can to make all of you proud.
“Thank you for the support, it was amazing to have you back in the stadium.”
While two Chelsea leaders; Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva, have issued rallying calls ahead of the decisive weeks of the season.
