Trevoh Chalobah has claimed that Chelsea teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga gives “everything” in training sessions.

Chalobah, 22, is a new face in the Blues squad this season after the club opted not to send him out on another loan.

The English centre-back did enough to impress first-team boss Thomas Tuchel during pre-season, which is why he’s now been integrated into the senior squad.

He’s explained that Blues goalkeeper Kepa has caught the eye as someone who’s 100 per cent in training sessions.

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa, 26, is the second choice behind Edouard Mendy at Stamford Bridge this season.

However, he’s kept two clean sheet in the three appearances he’s already made this season.

“With Kepa, he shows the right mentality. Every day he comes into training with a smile on his face, he’s always helping the boys by putting everything into training and even on the bench he’s screaming encouragement to the pitch, helping the boys out and supporting us all,” Chalobah said.

Kepa Arrizabalaga important part of Chelsea squad

Chelsea’s number one Mendy has already had some injury issues at the start of the campaign, so it’s been a relief to have a strong replacement who’s ready to step in.

Kepa’s hard times in the last few years are well documented. However, he’s looked in a far greater place since Tuchel arrived as manager in January.

He’s played 11 Chelsea games during the calendar year so far, which is a sign that he’s not been completely frozen out.

His commitment can’t be questioned based off detail of him in training, which is why it’s great to see his confidence picking up with every appearance.
