Cesare Casadei once again proved his credentials by converting a wonderful goal in Chelsea training out in Abu Dhabi yesterday,
The club cameras captured the young Italian delivering a delightful lobbed finish over fellow young gun Eddie Beach.
Casadei is absolutely no stranger to scoring sublime goals.
His wonder strike against Peterborough United was named Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for November.
Posh’s goalkeeper was left clutching at thin air as the effort from over 30 yards sailed past him into the top corner.
It was a moment that must’ve made Graham Potter sit up and notice, as he eventually included the 19-year-old in the 25-man squad who travelled to Abu Dhabi.
Potter is still yet to select the summer signing for a competitive match, but must be at least considering throwing Casadei into the lions’ den before too long.
Casadei is still awaiting his first senior Chelsea call-up, having moved to Cobham in August from Inter Milan for £12m
He is certainly pushing for a first-team debut after scoring four times in just eight appearances for the Under-21s so far this season.
The Italian youth international clearly has the talent to deliver on the big stage; will Potter award his gifts any time soon?
Chelsea fans certainly hope so.
