'What a player': Tammy Abraham's message to Chelsea player after Saturday display in Burnley win

Reece James put in an excellent performance during Chelsea’s win against Burnley on Saturday, which has prompted a message from Roma and ex-Blues striker Tammy Abraham.

The Blues recorded a third straight victory in the Premier League by winning 4-0 away to Burnley at Turf Moor.

It was James that got the scoring started early in the second half, firing in his sixth goal of the season across all competitions with a low finish. He got an assist with a pulled back cross to Kai Havertz soon after, too.

James, 22, has spent most of this calendar year watching on from the stands because of a hamstring problem, but his recent return has been huge for Thomas Tuchel’s XI.

The team look so much healthier in a 3-4-2-1 shape when their right wing-back is all-action defender James.

He’s received a response on Instagram from ex-Chelsea striker Abraham after his impressive weekend display.

James the best Chelsea academy graduate since JT

James is the best product of Chelsea’s Cobham academy since the days of John Terry, with Mason Mount a close second right now behind him.

It’s remarkable to see how much the 22-year-old’s been missed in the past two months, and today the balance of the XI looked tidier with him commanding that entire right flank.

He received big praise from teammate Havertz in the aftermath of the Burnley game. There is no doubt he must be a favourite teammate for several within the squad.

His crossing out wide is exactly what the Blues attackers need to thrive on. Also, he’s super strong, energetic and fully committed whenever he steps out on the pitch.
