Chelsea have been linked with a whole host of names in recent weeks. These have ranged from experienced professionals with years at the top of the game, to undiscovered young stars who could make an impact in years to come.
The latest name on that list is Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. But who is he and should Chelsea go all out to challenge Barcelona for his signature this month?

Olmo is a 21-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder who is currently plying his trade in Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb. He has come on leaps and bounds in the last two seasons and has recently caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs.
The Daily Mail has reported that Barcelona are favourites for his signature, but Chelsea have also made contact. Olmo came through the Barcelona academy before making a move to Croatia and is reportedly keen on a move back to the Catalan giants.
However, minutes could be hard to come by in a stacked Barcelona midfield. Chelsea could do with an injection of creativity in the midfield, and the Zagreb man would provide that.

He has scored three goals and provided three assists in just nine league appearances so far this season. He also scored twice in the club’s Champions League campaign, one of which was an impressive volley against Manchester City.
The Croatian club have a reported asking price of £34.1 million, which could prove to be a steal if Olmo continues to develop. With Euro 2020 coming up next summer, the young midfielder will want to be in a top league to catch the eye of Spain manager Luis Enrique.
