'World class': Graham Potter hails Chelsea duo after Aston Villa win

Chelsea manager Graham Potter was full of praise for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mason Mount‘s performance in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper made a personal record after making seven saves in the game to secure Chelsea’s fourth consecutive clean sheet under Potter.

Having become a regular starter under the new manager after spending the last few years as a backup to Edouard Mendy, Arrizabalaga did not let Potter down.

“It was a world-class performance, especially in the first half,” Potter told Sky Sports about his goalkeeper’s display (via BBC).

“I’m really pleased for him, he has had a tough period for us at times, but he contributed to the game.”

Alongside Arrizabalaga, Mason Mount also played a starring role in the game after scoring both goals for Chelsea.

Potter, however, also highlighted the England international’s overall impact on the game.

“We believe in Mason Mount a lot,” the manager explained.

“We love him as a player, and he is a great guy.

“You can see the influence he has on the team, and he works really hard for us.”

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League table with 19 points, eight points behind league leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

Potter’s men will face Brentford on Wednesday before hosting Manchester United at Stamford Bridge next weekend.
