Chelsea should look to sign ‘amazing’ player after what he did in the Champions League last night

As the end of the season gets closer, reports linking Chelsea to a number of top players have begun to surface.

It is widely known that they are going to be in for a striker this summer, and this will take up a large portion of the resources if they want to sign one who is going to make an instant impact.

It has been claimed that Napoli striker Victor Oshimen is the favourite right now, however, it will take close to a club-record fee for him to move to Stamford Bridge.

However, recent reports have also stated that they are looking to strengthen other areas of the attack, with Nico Williams now seemingly a top target.

If this is the case, the Blues were hopefully keeping an eye on last night’s Champions League action, where they will have seen one player in particular put in a stunning performance, despite being on the losing side.

Xavi Simons has enjoyed somewhat of a breakout season at RB Leipzig, so far registering eight goals, and 10 assists in all competitions.

He has previously been described as ‘amazing’ by current teammate Dani Olmo, as he continues to look the real deal.

Last night, the Dutchman was arguably the best player on the field as his side looked to complete a comeback victory against Jude Bellingham and his Real Madrid.

Despite at one stage being two goals behind on aggregate, the Bundesliga side had their chances, with Simons at the heart of nearly all of them.

The 20-year-old was clearly gutted at full-time, as his side fell just short at the Bernabeu.

Simons’ future is currently unclear, with him being at Leipzig on loan from PSG. With him still being linked with a permanent exit though, Chelsea should make sure they are in the conversation by the time the transfer window opens.
