With the new year here, there are going to be exits at Chelsea. Even some this month are possible.
Towards the end of December, Axel Disasi was linked with a move to Barcelona. That deal may not happen, but you would still expect the central defender to leave Stamford Bridge during this transfer window.
Disasi did not play a single minute of first-team football under Enzo Maresca this season before the Italian’s departure.
Chelsea need to make room before they can sign another centre-back. Who are you getting rid of?
Levi Colwill is definitely untouchable ❌
As for the summer, another Chelsea defender could also be on his way out of the club.

Josh Acheampong could seek pastures new in 2026
Unlike Disasi, Josh Acheampong is part of the senior squad at Chelsea. Even so, the young defender has barely played in the current campaign.
In total, Acheampong has made just five starts in the Premier League. For a player with so much talent, that is disappointing.
If things do not change, you can imagine the 19-year-old pushing for a move in the summer, especially if clubs are showing interest in him.
Enzo Maresca has officially left Chelsea! Who would you like to see replace the Italian? 🤔
Last November, it was claimed that Fiorentina have identified Acheampong as a potential replacement for Tariq Lamptey, who is currently out injured.
In the past, Acheampong has also been linked to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. If they come knocking and the England Under-21 international is still low in the pecking order, it is going to be hard for him to say no.

Chelsea’s current stance on Josh Acheampong
You could not blame Acheampong if he wanted to leave Chelsea now after being overlooked by Maresca.
However, his employers are unlikely to sanction any kind of exit this month. It is thought that Chelsea have no intention of letting Acheampong go during the January transfer window, not even on loan.
If Maresca’s successor does not start using him, though, they could face a battle trying to convince their academy product to stay in the summer. 2026 is going to be a big year for Acheampong.
