Chelsea are preparing to take on Liverpool tonight for the second time this season, and it wont be the last occasion where they cross paths.

Many are seeing tonight’s game as somewhat of a dress rehearsal for the EFL Cup final that is in the calendar for next month.

Before then though, the Blues have a real chance tonight to make a statement to the league leaders that they will not have things their own way, even if Anfield is at its electric best this evening.

It is the first Premier League game the Reds have since manager Jurgen Klopp announced he would be leaving his role at the end of the season.

The players and supporters will be desperate to deliver as many of the four trophies that are still available to the club when the campaign comes to an end, and a win tonight would put them five points clear at the top again.

The German’s comments earlier this week when asked about the game were interesting, particularly on record Chelsea signing Moises Caicedo.

Chance for Caicedo to impress

The 22-year-old was notably close to a move to Liverpool last summer, however instead was committed to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Klopp however continued to infer that he was more than happy with how the transfer window ended up for his side, hinting he was happy building without Caicedo.

This will surely have given the Ecuador international motivation to put in an impressive performance at the stadium he could have been playing at regularly this season.
