Chelsea remain unbeaten this season but teams are starting to find Sarri’s team out. Performances are declining; the draws with Everton and Manchester United and the narrow win against Bate. Teams are forcing the Blues to move the ball wide which is where they are weakest, especially in the right back and right wing positions.
Cesar Azpilicueta is not particularly suited to Sarri’s football. Cheksea really need full backs who have the pace and crossing ability to overlap the wingers when they are forced wide. The Spaniard is not very good at this.
Here, we look at five potential candidates who could do a better job at right back and who Chelsea could bring in.

Ricardo Pereira (Leicester City) £35 million
An optimistic idea given that he is a recent signing. Chelsea have convinced Leicester to sell players before though.
The 25-year old has started brilliantly for Leicester. Quick and constantly willing to overlap, he would suit Sarri perfectly.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) £40 million
This would be a risk as Wan-Bissaka is very raw. He would also be very expensive given that he is English. Furthermore, he storms forward more like a winger. This is great but a question remains over his defensive ability.

Thomas Meunier (PSG) £25 million
The Belgian is not able to play all the time in Paris due to the competition that Dani Alves provides. This means he may be tempted to leave for a guaranteed place.
He is impressive going forward and a powerful, tall defender. Would he be technically skilful enough for Sarri?
Joao Cancelo (Juventus) £45 million
Probably the least likely transfer on the list. He is settled at Juventus who are a European powerhouse and maybe a better side than Chelsea right now.
He is the standout target in terms of pure talent but would be very difficult to acquire.

Reece James (Wigan) Free
Again, an academy product making the grade at Chelsea is highly unlikely. So is Chelsea giving one a chance to do so.
However, James is making great strides, albeit in the Championship. He is a physical tank, strong and quick. But he also technically excellent He even scores free kicks. At the very least, he can compete for the back-up spot right now.
