Chelsea recorded their fifth win in six Premier League games following a 1-0 win over Swansea City on Wednesday night. Antonio Rudiger’s solitary goal gave the Blues all three in the clash at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was sent to the stands following a confrontation with the fourth official in otherwise mild mannered affair. With Cesar Azpilicueta and Eden Hazard rested for the visit of the Swans, here’s our player ratings:

Thibaut Courtois – 6

Had virtually nothing to do against Swansea on Wednesday night, with no shots on target. It’s fair to say the Belgian has had busier evenings.

Antonio Rudiger – 8

Scored the game’s only goal with a point blank header following N’Golo Kante’s shot. Made good runs going forward. A fine game for the German.

Andreas Christensen – 6

Faultless from the Dane once again. Something that fans should hopefully get used to at Stamford Bridge.

Gary Cahill – 6

Coped well with the threat of Wilfried Bony, but otherwise untested against a poor Swansea attack.

Davide Zappacosta – 6

Put in some decent crosses down the right wing. Unfortunate not to have anyone on the end of them. Good game for the Italian.

Cesc Fabregas – 6

A frustrating night for the Spaniard. In a midfield two, he’s not as free as he would like, so his play suffered as a result.

N’Golo Kante – 7

Everywhere on the pitch. Stopped any Swansea attack before it could begin, and was covering every blade of grass on the pitch like usual.

Marcos Alonso – 6

Like his fellow wing-back, he was good going forward and put in a number of good crosses, but was unable to find someone to convert them.

Pedro – 6

Not the best performance. Couldn’t get a foothold into the game, and didn’t really attack the Swansea backline.

Willian – 6

Attacked Swansea well at times, but was unable to continue his goalscoring run for the Blues.

Alvaro Morata – 6

Thwarted by Fabianski a number of times. The Spaniard could’ve had a number of goals, but luck wasn’t with the striker on this occasion.

Substitutes

Victor Moses – 6

Made his return from injury. Looked slightly rusty with a few stray passes, but good to have him back.

Eden Hazard – 6

Rested by Conte for the game, and didn’t really have a chance to influence the game when he came on.

Danny Drinkwater – 6

Like Hazard, came on with 10 minutes left. As result, he didn’t make an impact on the game.
