As expected with the quality that bleeds through Chelsea’s first team squad, a plethora of their players were called up to represent their countries during the international break.
A number of individuals have impressed more than others with their opportunities for their nations. Noni Madueke impressed Chelsea fans with his performance against Greece in their first Nations League game of the break.
Enzo Maresca has been blessed with a relatively kind run of injuries so far this season, with a few first team players starting every Premier League game so far in this campaign.
He has even been able to welcome club captain Reece James back to action in recent weeks, with him stringing three consecutive league starts together.

Chelsea should be fuming at Romeo Lavia’s injury on international duty
Another player who has seen recent time at Chelsea plagued by injury is Romeo Lavia, although he has established himself as a regular in the starting XI under Maresca when fit.
This has come at the expense of Enzo Fernandez, who is being forced to fight for his place in the side in the cup competitions.
His return to starting action could now come sooner than expected after reports that Lavia has picked up an injury while away with the Belgium national team.
While there is no confirmation yet of the extent of his issue, he was sent home early in order to get treatment back at the club.
Chelsea had been managing Lavia’s return from a long-term injury problem really well, with him not included in their squad for the Conference League group stages.
Opportunity for Enzo Fernandez if Lavia is injured
However, if their work has been undone by him being called up to the international squad then they will no doubt be disappointed if he is forced to spend another spell on the sidelines.
Chelsea reportedly see Lavia as an ‘elite’ talent, and Maresca has mentioned on more than one occasion just how impressed he has been by him.
It could well bring up a chance for Fernandez though to finally show Chelsea fans why the club paid what was at the time a club-record fee to sign the World Cup winner.
