Chelsea players have begun to filter back into Cobham as they prepare for a new season at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca yesterday took charge of his first session since taking over as the new manager, with him already looking to get some of his philosophies across to the first team.

Fitness seemed to be on the agenda for those who took part yesterday, with the dreaded bleep test being brought out to test the returning players.

The competition was won by Malo Gusto, with the Frenchman likely to start the season at right-back off the back of a suspension for Reece James.

However, what happened during the test of fitness suggests that the Blues could have a new leader amongst their ranks.

Tosin Adarabioyo shows leadership skills in Chelsea training

With Gusto competing with Ben Chilwell for the victory, Tosin Adarabioyo can be heard in a video on the club’s Twitter encouraging both players.

He also seemed to push on his countryman when he was hinting that he was struggling, a quality which the captains at the club will certainly need.

Despite the fact he was brought in on a free transfer, there is plenty of excitement over what Adarabioyo can bring to his new club.

He has previously been described as ‘fantastic’, and was a target of a number of Premier League sides before he committed his future to the Blues.

Chelsea looking to replace Thiago Silva

With the hectic schedule to come off the back of qualifying for European football last season, there is certainly a part for the defender to play next season.

The Blues are looking to replace Thiago Silva after his brilliant four-year spell at the club, and the leadership skills he brought were essential to the youthful squad.

While it is early days, the signs are that Adarabioyo is already going about the right way in starting to replicate that.
