Chelsea’s star man has not been shining as brightly in 2025, as the Blues endure more struggles on the pitch in the second half of the season.
Cole Palmer has been easily one of the best players in the Premier League since making the move to Stamford Bridge at the start of last season, however has struggled to hit the goalscoring and assisting height this year.
Palmer even missed a penalty for the first time in his career during the Blues’ win over Leicester City, something which many thought wasn’t even possible after the perfect record he boasted for club and country.
There was a reminder of Palmer’s class during the win over Tottenham recently at Stamford Bridge, when his brilliant cross was given the nod of approval by Enzo Fernandez.
It has been notable though that the attacking midfielder has been on a long goal drought of late. His last goal came in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on the 14th of January.

Marc Cucurella is Chelsea’s top Premier League scorer in 2025
Nicolas Jackson is yet to find the net during this calendar year, however has spent more than two months of that time on the sidelines due to injury.
In fact, it is Marc Cucurella who has scored the most Premier League goals for Chelsea this year, with him finding the net three times in 2025.
The Spain international only scored his first league goal for the Blues in December, so has really stepped up when his side have needed him most.
Cucurella marks his goals with his penguin celebration, which he recently explained does not come from his memorable slips against Spurs.

Chelsea legend apologised to Cucurella
As well as his goals, the all-round performances of Cucurella have gone up a level since Enzo Maresca took over as Chelsea boss.
The left-back was at one point seen as an unreliable part of the backline at Stamford Bridge, however that is no longer the case due to his sensational displays for both club and country.
His upturn in displays saw former Chelsea star Frank Lebouef apologise to Cucurella for his previous comments about him, with him now a huge fan of his.
With no other recognised left-back in the first team squad, the Spaniard is set to play an important part in their quest to qualify for the Champions League next season.
