‘Fantastic’ Chelsea player can be match-winner vs Bournemouth if he takes chance to repay Enzo Maresca faith

Enzo Maresca will no doubt be ringing the changes again as his Chelsea side return to Premier League action tomorrow night against Bournemouth.

The Blues picked up one of their most hard-fought victories against this opposition earlier this season, when Christopher Nkunku scored late to hand them a 1-0 win.

Chelsea will be hoping their attackers step up this week after the goals have seemed to dry up of late as their form has deserted them.

Enzo Maresca should start Noni Madueke for Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Maresca will be rotating heavily again, and this could see a whole new frontline start compared to the one who eventually dismantled Morecambe.

One player who was nowhere to be seen at the weekend was Noni Madueke, with the manager after the game claiming that he had been absent due to illness.

It has frequently been a toss up between the England international and Pedro Neto to start on the right-wing, however Maresca this time needs to back the former to be given the chance.

The stats suggest Madueke is having a bigger impact in the final third than the summer signing, and with goals not coming freely anymore this could be crucial.

The Englishman has certainly been performing at a higher level this season, with John Obi Mikel describing Madueke as ‘fantastic’.

Noni Madueke and Enzo Maresca clashing at Chelsea

Boxing Day’s local derby against Fulham saw Madueke not included in the matchday squad at all.

Maresca stated after the game that Madueke had been dropped for disciplinary reasons, with it unfortunately not being the first time he had lost his starting spot for that issue.

The Italian has not been afraid to be pretty ruthless with his decisions this season, and the winger has been one of those who has had to be reminded of the standards required to be a first team star at Stamford Bridge.

Last time he was dropped, Madueke responded well and proved exactly why he has been the recipient of so much praise this season, and needs to have the same kind of answer to his latest dropping with another top display against Bournemouth.
