If the latest reports are true, BlueCo have just topped their deal for Morgan Rogers

When it was reported that Morgan Rogers had agreed to join Chelsea on Saturday, Blues fans went into meltdown. It was deemed, arguably, the best deal Chelsea could do this summer.

While it is incredibly expensive – a club-record fee and the fourth-biggest transfer of all time – Chelsea fans were delighted that BlueCo had managed to secure a player of Rogers’ calibre, ahead of Arsenal.

A deal that many felt could not be topped this summer. Chelsea have already done some excellent business aside from Rogers, hijacking Serie A champions Inter Milan’s pursuit of Marco Palestra too.

Even their sales are impressive. With add-ons, £50m for Andrey Santos is an excellent deal, and even getting £24m in total from Everton for Tyrique George is solid. But Alejandro Garnacho trumps the lot.

How much Chelsea expect to receive for Alejandro Garnacho

Reports have emerged on Wednesday that Garnacho has completed a loan move to Aston Villa. The deal includes a conditional obligation to buy, meaning Garnacho will join permanently if conditions are met.

Initially, Chelsea fans were left in the dark over how much Villa had agreed to pay for Garnacho. But now, Nizaar Kinsella reports that Chelsea will receive a £43m fee and the conditions are expected to be met.

“Aston Villa’s loan with obligation move for Garnacho achieves Chelsea’s valuation of £43m. It should be easily achieved but also conditional so not guaranteed. The exact specifics are not available at this time.”

Fabrizio Romano goes one further, claiming that Garnacho has actually signed a four-year permanent contract with Villa because it would be a major surprise if the conditional obligation is not achieved.

“The obligation to buy is considered easy to reach, almost guaranteed. Chelsea count on a permanent transfer for 2027 as Garnacho also signs a four-year deal. Second part of the medical is ongoing now.”

Garnacho’s sale is a better deal than buying Rogers

When Chelsea signed Garnacho from Man United for £40m last summer, Blues fans immediately had doubts about it. Garnacho had scored a few goals, but had hardly set the Premier League alight.

Indeed, there had been question marks about his attitude and body language to the point that fans of any other side would boo him, simply because he was a villain figure. He managed one league goal.

Sorry, but there are WORSE players than Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea who aren’t being pushed out of the club

Just four Premier League assists, too. Of Chelsea’s attacking players, his output was among the worst, and on top of that, his body language, lack of work rate, and self-centred attitude had fans very frustrated.

Yet, BlueCo have still managed to turn a profit. When the loan turns permanent, Garnacho will be two years into amortisation, meaning anything over £24m would be a profit. To get £43m is astounding.

Chelsea may have to wait a year to rake the funds in, but to make even a £3m profit on the actual fee in question is remarkable business. BlueCo are on fire this summer, despite the criticism; let them cook.
