‘Incredible’ attacker could haunt Chelsea like Mohamed Salah amid Liverpool links

Down the years, Chelsea have made some transfers mistakes, the biggest being Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea sold both Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne to AS Roma and Wolfsburg respectively before they returned to the Premier League.

They are now undoubtedly going to go down as two of the best footballers to ever play in the English top flight.

Liverpool could now be about to repeat the same trick by signing another former Chelsea player, Christian Pulisic.

Liverpool interested in Christian Pulisic

Like with Salah, Chelsea sold Pulisic to a Serie A club, AC Milan. The winger joined the Italian outfit last summer but is already being linked with a return to England.

According to Calciomercato.it, Liverpool have actually identified Pulisic as a potential replacement for Salah, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

It comes amid Pulisic’s terrific run of form, with the American recently scoring a fourth consecutive goal.

One of his strikes came against Liverpool in the Champions League. Chelsea fans lauded Pulisic for his performance that night.

Christian Pulisic could come back to haunt Chelsea like Mohamed Salah

It is clear that Pulisic is not a bad player. Injuries and constant upheaval at Chelsea made it difficult for the 26-year-old to perform consistently during his time at Stamford Bridge.

“In the lockdown period under Frank Lampard, he was incredible,” Ruben Loftus-Cheek told Sky Sports.

Salah has proven to be a thorn in Chelsea’s side since returning to the Premier League, and Pulisic could prove to be the same if he does go on to join Liverpool, given his quality.

Salah scored an absolute screamer against Chelsea, for example, back in the 2018/19 season. It helped Liverpool to beat his former club 2-0 at Anfield.

If Pulisic joins the Reds and can do similar, then Chelsea could regret selling him, especially if Mykhailo Mudryk continues to struggle.

Mudryk, whom Chelsea signed to play in Pulisic’s position on the left, has been a real disappointment. Behdad Eghbali is dying for Mudryk to turn things around, and he still could. But right now, Chelsea putting their trust in him over Pulisic looks like a huge mistake.
