It would be easy for Morgan Rogers to become like a new toy for Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso.
Rogers was in demand; other top clubs wanted him, but the attacking midfielder has decided to join Chelsea.
His arrival could make it easy for Alonso to forget about some of the current attackers he already has, but the Spaniard is very unlikely to do that.
Chelsea likely to start new season with both Morgan Rogers and Pedro Neto in attack
Rogers is very versatile. The 23-year-old can play behind the striker and on both flanks. He could easily replace Alejandro Garnacho on the left, Enzo Fernandez in the middle or Pedro Neto on the right.
Everything is pointing towards Rogers becoming Chelsea’s first-choice left winger next season, which is obviously good news for Neto.
On TalkingPoints, one Chelsea supporter would prefer to see Estevao Willian start on the right. However, it is very likely that Neto begins the new season as the No.1 right winger if Alonso uses a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Managers love Neto’s work rate and the shifts he puts in down the right flank. It is why the Portuguese is safe even with Rogers coming in.
Again, while his best positions are the No.10 and left winger roles, Rogers can also cause damage on the right.

England supporters saw that at the World Cup after the ex-Middlesbrough and Manchester City man set up Anthony Gordon’s goal against Argentina from the right flank.
However, it would be a surprise if Alonso did not utilise Neto, especially when he can easily fit both the Portugal international and Rogers into the same starting XI.
You cannot be certain that Neto will finish the season as Chelsea’s first-choice right winger. Estevao put real pressure on him for a starting spot last term, and there is the January transfer window. But Rogers arriving should not have a negative impact on him.
