Sean Dyche is widely expected to take over the reins as the new Nottingham Forest manager, and one of his first signings could be a Chelsea star he has previously been linked with.

The Blues’ 3-0 win at the City Ground marked the end of Ange Postecoglou’s very brief spell in charge of the side, as Pedro Neto, Josh Acheampong and Reece James put the final nail in his coffin.

Former Everton and Burnley manager Dyche is expected to be named the new manager before their next game, and based on how their season has begun they will need to invest in signings in January to rescue their campaign.

Sean Dyche previously wanted Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah

When looking at the Chelsea squad, one player who it feels like has been available for the right price for a number of seasons is Trevoh Chalobah.

The Blues made a real effort to part ways with him on a permanent basis last season, however he soon became a key player for Enzo Maresca after he returned from his Crystal Palace loan.

As well as the Eagles, Everton have previously held an interest in the England international, with TeamTalk reporting their desire to sign him when Dyche was in charge.

Chalobah has frequently shown that he stars when performing in a back three, and this would see him fit in well with the system which Forest utilised for much of last season.

Defender likely to be sold by Chelsea soon

Despite Levi Colwill being out for the remainder of the season, the Blues still have a number of top options available when they’re all fit.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana all offer senior options, while Chelsea also have the very promising Acheampong beginning to show his worth.

The academy graduate scored his first goal for the club against Forest, and Chelsea fans believe Acheampong has the abilities to become a regular starter in the side.

If the youngster progresses, there would be room for a defender to leave the club, and it would have to be believed that Chalobah would be the one to depart should this be the case.
