Chelsea returned to Premier League action this weekend with a resounding 4-0 away win at West Bromwich Albion. Goals from Alvaro Morata, Marcos Alonso, and an Eden Hazard double helped the Blues move up to third in the Premier League table. An utterly dominant performance at The Hawthorns for Chelsea, here are our player ratings:

Thibaut Courtois – 6

A spectator for large parts of the game. Didn’t have much to do, but did well when called upon.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

Decent performance from Azpilicueta, as always. A common theme for the defenders though, as they were mainly untroubled.

Andreas Christensen – 7

Continued to show Antonio Conte why he deserves to start over David Luiz. Fautless performance again. Hopefully he keeps his place.

Gary Cahill – 7

Again, like the two other central defenders, he was mainly untroubled by the West Brom attack. The Englishman did when when needed.

Davide Zappacosta – 7

Did well in the absence of Victor Moses, and got forward a lot and found crossing positions regularly. However, his final ball let him down.

N’Golo Kante – 8

Faultless from the Frenchman. Only his second game since his return from injury, and he’s settled back in seamlessly. No doubt Chelsea’s key man.

Cesc Fabregas – 9

Another superb performance from the Spaniard. He registered two assists, and could have easily had more. Worked well with Hazard and Morata to control the game.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 7

Did well going forward, as well as defensively. Better midfield performances from Kante and Fabregas overshadowed the Frenchman on this occasion.

Marcos Alonso – 8

Another goal for Alonso, who finished well from a tight angle. Always an attacking threat, and looked lively in the final third.

Eden Hazard – 10

Completely unplayable. After being fouled by Gareth Barry, Hazard came into the game and utterly dominated proceedings. Did fantastically well for both goals, and the Belgian looks to be back at his best.

Alvaro Morata – 9

Claimed a goal and assist today. Followed up well from Hazard’s shot to score again this season. Provided a sublime backheel flick for Hazard to score. His link up play with the Belgian has been superb.

Substitutes

Danny Drinkwater – 6

Came on as a sub for Fabregas after 67 minutes, and didn’t really do too much to impact the game.

Pedro – 6

A 71st minute sub for Hazard, and made some good runs forward but the game was already won.

Willian – 6

Like Pedro, didn’t have enough time to make an impact on the game. Came on for Kante in the 77th minute.
