David Moyes claimed his first win as West Ham manager with a 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday. Marko Arnautovic’s early strike condemned Chelsea to their fourth Premier League defeat so far this season. The game was deeply frustrating for the Blues, with Antonio Conte claiming Chelsea’s title race is over – and that it never really began. Here’s who impressed on Saturday. If anyone did.

3.  Thibaut Courtois

Courtois is third-placed here, purely down to the fact that everyone else had a poor performance. The Belgian wasn’t spectacular himself, but the poor performance from the rest of the team means the Belgian is included here. For the majority of the game, the keeper had nothing to do. He was helpless for the first goal, as Arnautovic bent his shot out of his reach. He couldn’t make any other saves, as West Ham were under the cosh for the majority of the second half.

2. Cesar Azpilicueta

Yet another player that wasn’t great, but is included here after the poor performance from the rest of the side. Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill were not at their best at the weekend, with Azpilicueta the best of the back three on the day. Going forward, the Spaniard made a number of good crosses as he tried to find Morata to continue their link up. Not the best performance from the defender, but he is included here. Just.

1. N’Golo Kante

The best Chelsea player as they lost once again this season. As ever, he was his typical energetic self and ran around like he loves to do. He broke up play well and coped well with the West Ham midfield. Came close in the first half with a good bending shot, which forced a smart stop from Adrian. Kante’s job was made harder in the second half after Bakayoko went off and Chelsea changed to a holding pair of two, but he continued to do his usual thing in the middle of the park.
