Chelsea lost their fourth Premier League game of the season on Saturday. David Moyes’ West Ham side claimed all three points in what was a bitterly disappointing result for the Blues, as they were beaten 1-0. Marko Arnautovic’s early opener condemned Chelsea to another league defeat, with Antonio Conte claiming the title race is over for his side. After the weekend’s poor result, here are how the Chelsea players rated:

Thibaut Courtois – 6

Blameless for the Arnautovic opener, but then really had nothing to do for the rest of the game, as Chelsea went in search of an equaliser.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 6

Arguably the best of the back three. The Spaniard coped well when called upon and got forward well at times.

Andreas Christensen – 5

Probably the worst performance from Christensen in a Chelsea shirt so far. The Dane was given a tough game by Arnautovic.

Gary Cahill – 5

A poor afternoon from the skipper. Almost caused a West Ham second with a sloppy pass, but the offside flag spared his blushes.

Davide Zappacosta – 6

Provided a number of decent crosses, but was often caught out by Masuaku defensively.

N’Golo Kante – 6

Was his typical energetic self, but couldn’t really do much to change the game. Had a good shot which was saved well by Adrian.

Cesc Fabregas – 5

Usually Chelsea’s best passer of the ball, but Fabregas struggled to make an impact on the game. West Ham’s defensive ability stopped the Spaniard well.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 5

Subbed off at halftime. Could have, and probably should have kept with Arnautovic for the opener. Not great from the Frenchman.

Marcos Alonso – 5

Despite being given a rest in midweek, Alonso very quiet and wasn’t involved in the game. Subbed off early in the second half.

Eden Hazard – 5

Looked promising when on the ball, but didn’t do anything to unlock the West Ham defence. The Belgian is better than Saturday’s showings.

Alvaro Morata – 5

Missed Chelsea’s golden opportunity of the game. Other than that, he was dealt with well by the West Ham defenders.

Substitutes

Victor Moses – 6

Did well when coming on, and looked good on the ball as Chelsea went looking for an equaliser.

Pedro – 6

Always seemed to have space, but time after time, the Chelsea players failed to find the Spaniard.

Willian – 6

Enjoyed good spells of the ball, but didn’t really do much with possession.
