Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has just been named as the new England boss.
Thomas Tuchel‘s role as the new England head coach could see him link-up with several players he is already familiar with following his time at Chelsea.
The likes of Reece James and Ben Chilwell, for example, could now reunite with the German, though both men have to get themselves playing again if they want to earn recalls to the Three Lions’ squad.
In the latter’s case, that could happen at Old Trafford, with Chilwell said to be a target for Manchester United.
Potential reunions with Chilwell and James may be something that Tuchel is looking forward to after winning the Champions League with the two full-backs, but things could get a little awkward when he meets Levi Colwill again.

Thomas Tuchel and Levi Colwill’s relationship at Chelsea
It does not look like Tuchel and Colwill enjoyed the best relationship during their short time working together.
After a successful loan spell at Huddersfield Town back in the 2021/22 season, Colwill was looking to break into the Chelsea first-team squad.
However, according to The Athletic, upon his return to Cobham, Tuchel barely spoke to the central defender before his eventual loan move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The same outlet also claimed that Colwill was upset by Tuchel’s decision to bring in Kalidou Koulibaly.
Thomas Tuchel has to smooth things over with Levi Colwill
Colwill is having a very good season at Chelsea, starting in all seven of their Premier League games so far.
At 21, Colwill has so much potential, while he has also proven to be quite a versatile footballer over the past year.
The England international can play at both centre-back and left-back, making him a useful asset for both club and country.
Ultimately, if there are any issues between Tuchel and Colwill, then the former Bayern Munich boss needs to sort that out given what the Chelsea academy graduate can bring to the table, though you would imagine that both parties will see this as a new chapter.
