Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer are Chelsea’s two best attackers and reminded everyone of that in the Blues’ 6-4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers.
Pedro scored a second-half hat-trick for Chelsea after coming on following the restart, while Cole Palmer’s passing was crisp.
A lot of attention will be on them in the new season, as well as new signing Morgan Rogers.

Jamie Gittens being overlooked after Morgan Rogers signing
Jamie Gittens was fantastic for Chelsea at the Accor Stadium, picking up from where he left off in the Blues’ behind-closed-door friendlies.
Like Pedro, Gittens was also a second-half substitute who managed to get his name on the scoresheet.
His first touch was brilliant, while the winger was not afraid to take on Western Sydney’s defenders. After all of his injury problems last season, it is easy to forget how good Gittens’ dribbling can be.
If the England Under-21 international can stay fit, he could be a really good alternative to Rogers.
With Rogers set to start on the left, not many are expecting much from Gittens in the upcoming campaign. But if his latest display is anything to go by, he could end up being a bit of a secret weapon for Xabi Alonso.
Because of Rogers’ arrival, Gittens was one Chelsea player who needed to impress against Western Sydney. The former Borussia Dortmund man needed to show Alonso that he can compete for that spot on the left-hand side. Gittens did just that, and hopefully he can now kick on.
Let’s not forget that Gittens is still only 21 years of age. Too many people have written him off because of one season, which was plagued by injury.
There is certainly more to come from this young and talented wide man.
