Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel took real delight from seeing how Ruben Loftus-Cheek celebrated his goal during today’s FA Cup semi-final win at Wembley Stadium.
The Blues know they will face Liverpool in next month’s FA Cup, which is a re-run of the Carabao Cup final from February.
Chelsea stepped on the gas during the second half in Sunday’s 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace in the semis. Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring in the second period before Mason Mount doubled the advantage soon after.
Tuchel explained in his post-match interview that Loftus-Cheek’s enthusiastic goal celebration was great to see from a player that needs to show more confidence on the pitch.
The 26-year-old midfielder scored for Chelsea for the first time since 2019 with an excellent half-volley that set the Blues on their way to another final under Tuchel.
“Hopefully, a big moment because it was a big moment. You see in his celebration, it was nice because he is usually a very clam and quiet guy. But to see him like this, jumping and celebrating a goal was good. Like I said, he has the opposite of over-confidence. We need to install this confidence into his body, into his game, and these are the next steps for him that he can absolutely feel how much influence he can have,” Tuchel said.
In addition, Ian Wright claims that Loftus-Cheek “changed the game” after entering the action as a first-half substitute for injured star Mateo Kovacic.

Chelsea to wreck Liverpool’s quadruple hopes
Hopefully, Chelsea are the side to rain on Liverpool’s parade of achieving something remarkable this season.
In fairness, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are a quality outfit that remain in the mix to win four major trophies this year.
Liverpool got the better of Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final via a penalty shootout. They’re in the FA Cup final, Champions League semis, and are a point off top spot in the Premier League title race.
Tuchel’s men will need to be at their best to overcome the Merseyside club, but the fact is they’ve shown numerous time they can go head-to-head with them.
It’s time for the Blues to rectify recent heartache in finals at Wembley.
