Chelsea recorded a 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League – and even some opposition fans on Twitter were left praising N’Golo Kante for his performance.
Chelsea recovered from a two-goal deficit at the weekend to earn a league point against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Mateo Kovacic’s wonder volley, along with Christian Pulisic’s lofted finish, secured the Blues a draw.
It was a Premier League thriller with some eye-catching football at the Bridge, albeit Thomas Tuchel and Cesar Azpilicueta both felt Sadio Mane should’ve been sent off after a challenge just 10 seconds into the contest.
Chelsea’s gap to league leaders Manchester City now sits at 10 points, so any talk of the title looks very ambitious right now. Instead, securing second should be the aim in the short-term because teams below look very dangerous.

Liverpool fans applaud Kante
A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media couldn’t help but credit Chelsea’s Kante for his individual display against them.
Kante looked at his vintage best on Sunday by starring alongside midfield partner Kovacic.
The 30-year-old Frenchman was running rings around Liverpool at times with his phenomenal energy and pace, something he’s been doing to Premier League teams for years now. It’s no secret anymore to what he’s good at, but trying to stop him remains a mystery.
Even Liverpool’s top quality midfielders couldn’t quite get to grips yesterday with a Kante-Kovacic pivot that won the battle in the centre of the park.
If fit, Chelsea boss Tuchel can call upon some of the best central midfielders in the business that have top level experience.
