'Class under Tuchel', 'Box office': Some Chelsea fans loved their player's display in win vs Spurs

Chelsea reached the Carabao Cup final by beating Tottenham once again on Wednesday night – and some Blues fans on Twitter were really impressed by the performance from their star Antonio Rudiger.

The Blues secured a 1-0 away win tonight against Spurs courtesy of Rudiger’s first-half goal. He deflected the ball goalwards from a Mason Mount to net the match-winner.

Thomas Tuchel’s side completed a comfortable 3-0 aggregate victory against Spurs over the two legs in the semi-final, which means they’ll face either Arsenal or Liverpool in the domestic final.

Tuchel’s first piece of silverware came in style with the Champions League last May, but they’re now one game away from another trophy with a team that continues to keep getting better.

Rudiger has hearts of Chelsea fans

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe their defender Rudiger was yet again a standout for them.

The 28-year-old defender lined up as a centre-back in a back four, proving yet again that he can impress outside of a back three system.

He was aggressive in his defensive work off the ball, as well as providing the winning goal on the night.

The German powerhouse is a popular topic for discussion because of his contract situation and the fact his deal at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer. Of course, the general feeling is that every fan wants him to stay. Latest reports suggest the player is currently relaxed about his future and isn’t in a rush to sign any pre-contract agreements with interested clubs.
